In the Nile Corniche project, HOCHTIEF ViCon supports planning and coordination processes with a 3D model. The project comprises a hotel and residential area on the banks of the river Nile. Upon completion, the building is set to be one of the most exclusive addresses in Cairo.
In the initial project phase, HOCHTIEF ViCon prepared a BIM Implementation Plan which included modeling standards and information on responsibilities and the coordination of BIM processes. The building information model is used for the 3D coordination of trades, 3D quantity calculation, cost monitoring, construction planning and marketing purposes.
In addition, HOCHTIEF ViCon is in charge of BIM Management on the building site and has for this purpose assigned a BIM Manager who oversees the correct implementation of BIM and makes sure the 3D model is used efficiently. At the same time, we train and certify project participants in the use of BIM.
