Every year we have a validation event during Autodesk University where we try to get a mix of AutoCAD Civil 3D customers that reflect our diverse user base. That means people from different countries who work on different type projects, etc. More often than not, the core requirements (and solution) are the same though there are invariably differences in some of the details of the implementation.
This year we reviewed two of the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017 improvements and the interaction amongst the attendees was really interesting. In this case, there was a very stark difference in the relative importance of the two improvements by the attendees. I thought I’d share this with you as it illustrates a few things:
- Requirements may vary significantly by region, segment and customer type.
- In some cases, requirements that aren’t important to you now will likely become important in the future
