Senior Research Scientist, Jos Stam, works in our Autodesk Research group at the Toronto office. Long ago, as a follow up to his SIGGRAPH 1999 paper on “Stable Fluids,” he developed an iPhone application that is a basic solver behind Autodesk Maya Fluid Effects (FX). Playing with fluid effects is fun on the iPhone.
For those of you with iPhone, you should check it out. It has been rated 4.5 stars out of 5. Just type in Autodesk in the search part in the App Store straight from your device. You can change settings for color, swirl, and gravity. This is fun and looks so real. Don’t believe me? See for yourself:
