This year in Porto, we ran the Vision 20/20 competition. For those not familiar with it, the format of the competition was to put together 20 slides, of 20 seconds each (6 minutes and 40 seconds in total) and to share your vision of the future.
The topic was Big Data (deep insight). We all know ‘Big Data’ is a hot topic, but how do we make that data useful in the AECO world? How do we turn all that Data into Knowledge, what insight is to be gained when we do, and what impact does that have on the built environment? It’s a broad topic, but quite a few of you had a lot to share.
From all the submissions, the European Committee shortlisted the top 3 finalists. These finalists then presented their submissions to all the European delegates during the closing plenary. And if you were a delegate at the European conference, in Porto, you had the power to determine the winner and the two runner ups. You did this job well.
Drum roll please….
