I fully intended to send this email out yesterday. I had it all planned out so I’d get done early. I picked my links and wrote up the summaries in the morning. I had a good idea for the intro story. I was all set to sit down and finish it up. And then life intervened. Another task that should have taken me 15 minutes ended up taking most of the day. And it wasn’t even work-related. Ugh. . . Does this ever happened to you?
While it’s easy to beat myself up for not meeting my deadline, what’s more important is to keep going. Sure, I should have written it on Wednesday. And yes, I should have built in more time to get everything done. You’d think after 2+ years of writing this email I’d finally have it all down. Lessons learned. Even though you’re experienced doing something, you still need refresher now and again. Sometimes it takes a missed deadline to make you realize.
