What is it about the design process that lends itself to missing deadlines? Case in point, today was the day I was supposed to unveil the new “Thursday Top 5” email design. I showed a preview of the design last week and was looking forward to putting it to work this week. But. . . things didn’t work out as planned. First, the designer encountered some complications converting the Photoshop file to HTML. Then there were complications getting the template into my email provider’s format. Finally, after I sorted all that out, there were more complications when I sent out a test email. Sounds familiar, right? Design projects always seem simple until you get into the details.
By the way, a big thanks to everyone who responded with their comments on the new design. Apart from a couple of typos (oops) the new design was very well received. I’m looking forward to (hopefully) putting it in place for next week’s email. Finger crossed. . .
