For my Throwback Thursday TBT post this week, I wanted to answer a common question when people drive by, walk by or visit our Autodesk Portland Office and look up on the building top corners. The office building is a historic renovated brick building located prominently in the Central Eastside Industrial District along the Eastside of the Willamette river next to Burnside Bridge and the I-5 freeway.

I actually had that question last week from a local that walks by our building a lot and always wondered what they were. It’s actually the logo of a grizzly bear from early 1900s for the Blake Moffit & Towne Paper Company. Granted, an early 1900s bear art circa 1913 is different an perhaps more nightmare inducing to some than we might draw today, but that was their right and perhaps style or the person capable of painting. Now, if it was me painting the bear, you can bet it would be even harder to identify what to was.
