According to the United Nations, the world’s population is projected to reach 8 billion within the next decade and eventually reach 9.7 billion by the year 2050. What’s more, the vast majority of this population increase will take place in developing or underdeveloped countries where infrastructure to support these populations is needed.
It will be up to the next few generations of civil engineers to deliver to deliver clean water solutions, waste disposal projects, affordable shelter and dynamic transportation solutions. So, what does the future for the developing world look like?
