A 143-year old pedestrian suspension bridge over the Machhu River in Morbi in the state of Gujarat, India, collapsed at around 6:40 pm on Sunday, October 30. Anywhere from 150 to 500 peoples may have been on the bridge at the time of collapse, depending on the source. Sixty bodies have been recovered.
